Riftlab Studios - Punishment Guidelines
Reporting flow, appeals, and punishment tiers for Discord and in-game enforcement.
1 - Reporting a Person
- Ensure required proof is ready: screenshot, message link, ID, confession, list of witnesses, and deletion log if possible.
- For personal offenses, open a ticket and block the offender.
- For general rule violations, open a ticket or, more preferably, use the /report command.
- For serious offenses that need immediate attention, such as a server raid, use @Discord Moderation in public.
2 - Reporting Staff
- Use the administration ticket system following standard reporting procedures.
3 - Reporting Administration
- For Supervisors or above, DM the Studio Director (Maroj).
- Prepare a minimum of two witnesses and multiple screenshots.
- False reporting equals Tier 3 trolling.
4 - Being Reported
- All necessary evidence has already been gathered.
- Confession reduces punishment significantly.
- You may defend yourself, but further rule violations add charges.
5 - Punishment Appeal
- All appeals must go through the ticket system.
- Attempts to bribe or manipulate result in the appeal being void and made inappealable.
- Appeals may take up to 2 weeks.
- Criminal or non-appealable punishments are final.
6 - Offenses and Punishments (For Discord Users)
Punishment Types [Discord]
- Warnings: 1-5 level system; each warning is permanent but appealable.
- 2 warnings = 1-day timeout.
- 3 warnings = 1-week timeout.
- 4 warnings = ban for 1 month.
- 5 warnings = permanent ban.
- Timeouts: temporary mute for text or voice.
- Bans: server removal; temporary or permanent.
- Kicks: forced removal from the server.
- Permanent punishments: for serious offenses; may be appealable.
Trolling / Disruption
- Tier 1: Minor disruption or misuse. Punishment: verbal warning, optional 15-minute timeout.
- Tier 2: Misuse of internal systems or escalated trolling. Punishment: 1-6 hour mute, formal warning.
- Tier 3: Malicious behavior or impersonation. Punishment: 1-30 day suspension or permanent ban, 1-2 strikes.
Harassment and Disrespect
- Tier 1: Minor belittling or pestering. Punishment: 1-6 hour mute, formal warning.
- Tier 2: Offensive attacks or bullying. Punishment: 1-7 day mute or suspension, 1-2 strikes.
- Tier 3: Threats, discrimination, or sustained harassment. Punishment: indefinite suspension or permanent ban.
Inappropriate Content
- Tier 1: Borderline content or memes. Punishment: delete plus 10-60 minute timeout.
- Tier 2: Suggestive or repeated offensive content. Punishment: delete plus 1 hour to 7-day timeout, optional strike.
- Tier 3: Explicit or illegal material. Punishment: permanent ban or indefinite suspension.
Security and Exploits
- Tier 1: Alt accounts and minor leaks. Punishment: verbal warning, 1 strike.
- Tier 2: Doxing, phishing, and restricted access breaches. Punishment: 1-365 day suspension, 2 strikes.
- Tier 3: Malware, hacking, or data theft. Punishment: permanent ban or indefinite suspension.
7 - Offenses and Punishments (For Ingame Players)
Punishment Types [Game]
- Chat Restriction: temporary ban from communication features.
- Gameplay Suspension: temporary removal from matchmaking or session access.
- Permanent Gameplay Suspension: indefinite removal of account access.
- Removal of in-game items: confiscation of specific items, perks, collectibles, or currency.
- Appeal: actions may be reviewed through the official appeal system. If not stated otherwise, all punishments are appealable.
Fair Play, Cheating and Exploits
- Tier 1: Minor exploits or glitches. Punishment: chat restriction for 1-7 days.
- Tier 2: Use of unauthorized software or significant exploits. Punishment: gameplay suspension for 7-30 days.
- Tier 3: Severe cheating, account modifications, account sharing, or hacking. Punishment: permanent gameplay suspension.
Data and Account Security
- Tier 1: Sharing accounts or failure to report global rule violations. Punishment: chat restriction for 1-14 days.
- Tier 2: Unauthorized access attempts or sharing non-public, non-sensitive information of other users. Punishment: gameplay suspension for 14-90 days.
- Tier 3: Major security violations, selling accounts, data theft, doxxing, or hacking. Punishment: permanent gameplay suspension.
Economy Manipulation
- Tier 1: Minor trading violations or price manipulation. Punishment: chat restriction for 1-7 days.
- Tier 2: Significant market manipulation or scamming. Punishment: gameplay suspension for 7-30 days.
- Tier 3: Major fraud, real-money trading, or large-scale scams. Punishment: permanent gameplay suspension.
Custom Content
- Tier 1: Minor violations of content guidelines. Punishment: chat restriction for 1-7 days.
- Tier 2: Significant breaches of content policies, unauthorized modding, or malicious content creation. Punishment: gameplay suspension for 7-30 days.
- Tier 3: Privacy violations, distribution of unauthorized client modifications, or similar offenses. Punishment: permanent gameplay suspension.
8 - Additional Notes:
- Falsified evidence results in the same punishment as the defendant.
- Victim absence leaves evidence in pending status.
- Being banned from Discord (Game Appeals Server) makes you ineligible for ingame appeals.
- We reserve the right to modify punishments based on context and severity.
- Repeat offenders may face escalated punishments.
- If a non-illegal offense is committed and forgiven by the victim, the punishment may be reduced or voided.
- If the offender is under 13 years old, their account will be permanently banned without appeal. We comply with COPPA regulations and may ask for age verification through safe, non-identifying moderation questions. We will never ask for personal documents or sensitive information.
