Rift Labs Studios - Secrecy Guidelines
Content in this tier is open and accessible to the general public. There are no restrictions on sharing, and it can be freely distributed or discussed by anyone.
Examples:
- Usernames and IDs of users
- Normal in-game accessible content
- Everything else that is NOT listed below
This content is restricted from public release but may be shared with trusted internal users, such as active testers or community supporters. The content is considered sensitive but not critical to studio operations.
Examples:
- Close update logs
- Photos of in-development content
- Active leaks
Highly sensitive content that must be kept within specific staff or supporter groups. This tier involves active development stages and internal discussions that should not be disclosed to outsiders.
Examples:
- Active development stages
- Paid Supporters Chat Discussions
- Paid chat streams
Test builds for the development team only.
Examples:
- Unreleased gameplay systems
- Prototypes
Content related to canceled projects or former staff decisions.
Examples:
- Canceled projects
- Former staff decisions
This content is classified and highly sensitive. It is shared only within a select group of high-level staff and should never be distributed without explicit authorization. It includes information critical to studio operations and future success.
Examples:
- Staff Beta Access Codes
- Staff Chat Discussions
- Private staff DMs and voice calls
This is the most restricted level of secrecy. The content here is the most sensitive and usually tied to legal or security obligations. It includes private staff information, security credentials, or confidential game files. Leaking Redacted information results in immediate termination and permanent punishment.
Examples:
- Private information of staff members
- Valuable passwords of any kind
- Development game files of any kind
- Specially tagged “High Command” data
In specific scenarios, the Studio Director (or assigned person) can pardon any leak or breach of secrecy tier.
- These exceptions must be signed and always approvable.
- Exceptions are not granted for violations of Terms of Service.
- No exceptions include illegal actions or actions violating Steam or Discord policies.
